Introducing the Morning Coffee Writing Competition! We at Sonder Magazine are honoured to share a part in bringing this short story contest to you.
This has been a difficult year for pretty much everyone. On top of awful Covid stress, vital organisations like the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre have been obliged to cancel many of their fundraisers. For those who aren’t aware of their services, the DRCC offer a free, confidential listening and support service for women and men who have been sexually abused at any time in their lives. They also run prevention campaigns.
The Morning Coffee Writing Competition aims to raise funds for the RCC and also, maybe, to make your day a bit brighter by inspiring some creativity.
We need small pretty things in dark times, whether the darkness is caused by a dull 9am lecture, a personal trauma, or a global pandemic. Hopefully, we all have something positive (like a cup of coffee, perhaps) to get us up in the morning.
The entry fee is €6.50, although we encourage you to donate a little more if you can. All proceeds go directly towards the RCC. To submit, please see the Morning Coffee Competition tab, where you can find the submission guidelines and form.
The winning entry will be published in Issue IV of Sonder Magazine and will receive a book voucher to the value of €20. Those who place 2nd and 3rd will have their stories published on our website.
